Springing into Action
Rory takes back to back podium places on the first 2 rounds of the WSKC series at Larkhall.

In March, Rory finished a close 3rd behind regular sparring partner Kyle Forgie with British Championship front runner Dave Wooder from London taking the win ahead of both local lads.

The April meeting was also a round of the NKRA championship and a warm, sunny Larkhall welcomed a Honda grid of 14 competitors from all over the UK.

Rory faced an uphill struggle following an early clash with Cumbria's Joe Taylor putting him out of the first heat and so despite finishing 2nd and 4th on the following 2 heats only qualified P7 for the final.

However, he fought his way through the field to finish 3rd behind local boys Kyle Forgie and Steven Prentice, claiming fastest lap in the process.

CONGRATULATIONS to younger brother Bruce for passing his ARKS test in March - will he make the change from ace mechanic to ace driver - watch this space!

Rory wins Rowrah debut
October and the last round of the summer series at Larkhall - Rory had been quick all weekend winning all 3 heats and taking pole for the final.

He led until the last lap when Hamilton's Steven Prentice managed to outbrake him into the third last bend & both karts ended up on the grass.

Rory's engine stalled and he was unable to get back on to finish higher than 5th but had enough points to finish 2nd overall in his first WSKC Championship year.

A week later and the teams first trip "abroad" to Cumbria Kart Racing Club's excellent facility at Rowrah. Rory managed to scrape pole despite going off at the chicane during one of the heats and narrowly won a very close Honda Cadet final with only quarter of second splitting the top three.

Back at Summerlea Raceway early November, Rory claimed victory in all three heats & final on the first round of the WSKC winter series. Round 2 in December was cancelled due to the arctic conditions and as the team were unable to do the last round due to holiday commitments it was decided to abandon the series and concentrate on getting Rorys younger brother Bruce through his ARKS test to get his competition licence.

Rory Dickson made his debut at Summerlea Raceway, Larkhall in December 2007.
Racing in the Honda cadet class, he has won the Novice trophy on every single one of his first 5 races. Rory also finished on the podium in his last three races despite having to start with the other Novices at the back of the grid.

Second place to Hamilton's Steven Prentice in both May and June has confirmed his potential behind the wheel. As his Novice status now comes to a close & grid positions improve his first win can't be far away.
